Resection in Saline Electrodes

Olympus Resection in Saline Electrodes include a variety of electrode choices for urological procedures, including the PlasmaButton as well as loop (various sizes), band, knife, and roller ball options. Their seamless integration with Olympus resectoscopes ensures surgical tissue removal with minimal bleeding, increased visibility, and decreased procedure time. Only Olympus electrodes are designed to conform to the precise Olympus resectoscope specifications and tolerances necessary to assure safe, effective, and reliable operation.

Shiley™ Endobronchial Tube with Left/Right Polyurethane Cuff

The endobronchial tube allows for the inflation of one lung as indicated for thoracic surgery or intensive care. There is a right and a left Shiley™ endobronchial tube option depending on the lung that needs to be ventilated. The tube features a low pressure tracheal and bronchial cuff to minimize risk of mucosal damage. The specially designed bronchial cuff assists with location of the distal tip when verification is confirmed by a fiber-optic bronchoscope. There is a slight curve at the distal tip to assist with placement. There is also an x-ray opaque carinal hook for confirming placement.

Shiley™ Esophageal Endotracheal Double Lumen Airway

Establishes a Patent Airway When Placed in the Trachea or Esophagus.
For difficult or emergency airway management, enabling blind placement without a laryngoscope.

Shiley™ Evac Oral Endotracheal Tubes with TaperGuard™ Cuff

Reduces ventilator-associated pneumonia (VAP) by an average of 50%.
The need to reduce ventilator associated events is the primary reason the Shiley™ evac oral endotracheal tube with TaperGuard™ cuff is critical for all patients on a ventilator in the ICU.
Advanced airway protection
Subglottic secretion drainage (SSD) helps remove oral and/or gastric secretions from above the endotracheal tube cuff before they can be aspirated. Such aspirations may lead to a very serious complication known as VAP or Ventilator Associated Pneumonia.
SSD must be done with a specialized endotracheal tube with a separate dorsal suction lumen located just above the cuff. Based upon clinical evidence, the following organizations recommend the use of SSD to reduce the incidence of VAP:

  • SHEA Guidelines
  • American Thoracic Society/ Infectious Diseases Society of America (ATS/IDSA) – Level I
  • Centers for Disease Control (CDC) – Category II
  • American Association of Critical Care Nurses (AACN)
  • Agency for Healthcare Research and Quality (AHRQ)
  • The Shiley™ Evac endotracheal tube with TaperGuard™ cuff incorporates Shiley™ Evac technology.

Shiley™ Evac Oral Tracheal Tube, SealGuard™, Murphy Eye

SealGuard™ Basic and SealGuard™ Evac endotracheal tubes offer the same patented TaperGuard™ cuff technology, with an integrated cuff inflation line and integrated suction lumen. The SealGuard™ Evac endotracheal tube features an ulta-thin polyurethane cuff that permits lower cuff pressures to maintain proper tracheal seal. It also features a smooth Murphy eye for easy insertion and is suitable for both nasal and oral insertion.

Shiley™ Laser Oral Murphy Eye Endotracheal Tubes

The Laser-Flex™ tracheal tube is a stainless steel, dual cuffed or uncuffed tube used for ventilation during CO2 and KTP laser surgeries of the laryngeal or tracheal area. It is laser resistant, non-flammable, flexible stainless steel. This technology provides an airtight steel spiral design that prevents air leaks occurring along the tube length.

Shiley™ Microlaryngeal Oral/Nasal Murphy Eye Endotracheal Tube

Standard I.D. and O.D. on this longer length tube provide greater access to the surgical field during microlaryngeal surgery.
